Many people make a trip to Thailands second city of Chiang mai when they are on holiday or travelling. Allthough a fairly large and rapidly growing place it still maintains a quiet ,quaint setting for any traveller or tourist to relax and soak up Thai culture. Unfortunatley I didnt have time to do any of that as I was meeting a friend for a day and just managed to squeeze in three hours at the amazing Paradise Lake.
Dream Lake ,CHIANG MAI is a beautifull lake located 8 km from Chiang Mai center. The fishing here is year long but the best Season is : March-October. Thai fish can grow incredibly fast.3-4 kg a year are quiet normal for a some species. There are many different species of fish in this lake and you can fish with lures or baits.
Paradise Lake ,CHIAMG MAI This lake is surrounded by old trees and gives a lot of fishing spots in the shade, blocking out the tropical sun. The name says it all and this lake is not to be missed out of your Thai fishing Itinerary This lake is located within the Chiang Mai city limits and is easy to get to by Taxi or Tuk Tuk.
Mae Ngat Dam, is a wonderfull fishing destination This reservoir, is located 85 km northwest of Chiang Mai and is another breathtaking sight. A flooded valley surrounded by breathtaking scenery with views that are good enough alone to make the journey.But thats not what you will be going for, the scenery is a big bonus but the fishing is the most important thing and that is Great.
Mae Kuang Dam, Is a big reservoir, located 40 km northwest of Chiang Mai. This Large Dammed lake has beautifull breathtaking scenery surrounding it with misty mountains as a backdrop you are assured a wonderfull trip to this venue. The journey to the Reservoir in itself is amazing through winding mountain roads where you can pass through farmlands , jungles and rocky outcrops.
