The Bamboo Warrior is a Journal style feature about one Anglers journey into fishing in Thailand. Away from the main tourist areas and man made lakes with guaranteed catches and non stop action this is a journey into the unknown waters that are prolific in the land of smiles. From the first days after arrival, itching to go fishing but without a clue of what baits or tackle to use here, this ongoing journal will uncover a personal journey of discovery that relates to many people who have had to change their conventional western style tactics when fishing Thailands waters.
You are invited into the world of the Bamboo warrior, a world that involves a mix of western and Thai fishing methods.

ImageIts been a while but even with all the going's on at MFT we did get a couple of hours to sneak over the road to the local (Klong) canal/river/swamp. ImageJust another day in paradise. With some spare time to take a stroll down a nearby river and a box of Thailand made fishing flies to test, hopefully we can tempt out a little fishy or two for the MFT camera. Luckily we dont live anywhere near a city and being on the coast aswell theres lots of natural wildlife so when casting around in a canal or tidal river if you keep your eyes open you can see an amazing amount of wildlife species that you might miss if you didnt have the mind to look around.

All catches are for the pot. This kind of food is very healthy but not so pleasing to the eye as your average farrang thai food.
