This is our latest catch report for fishing in Thailand at the amazing Dream lake fishing resort in Chiang mai and some of the fish catches during the cold and difficult winter-fishing season at Dream Lake fishing resort, Chiang Mai in NorthernThailand.

The fishing contest was Limited to 50 anglers from around the Chiang Mai area. The results were not mind blowing with only 4 Snakeheads and 1 Peacock Bass being netted.

Fishing with lures is not really recommended during the wintertime at this lake, fishing with Live and Deadbaits can provide much better results so this would be a great test of the local Thai anglers skills aswell as knowledge of thier quarry and a briliant way to celebrate the grand re-opening of Dream lake fishing resort Chiang Mai.

In the afternoon, after the competition a few anglers didnt want to leave so they continued fishing and took on the quest for the lakes big predators.

A nice Alligator Gar, another Peacock Bass, and also a beautifull Arapaima were caught on a Megabass Minnow.

After the opening party the lake staff returned to the usual routine of daily guiding at Dreamlake Resort and Paradise Lake.

During the last two months many Thai and foreign anglers have caught really nice fish all in pristine condition, but to be honest, I have to say, that this lake in winter is without doubt a real challenge to most Anglers.



The biggest surprise for the winter season was the good number of Giant Siamese carp that have been caught, which is unsual for the cold season. The carpfishing is fairly good, especially in the late afternoon and evening.

To sum up, Dream-Lake resort certainly does not have any guarantees as far as catches go. If everytime you went fishing you knew you were going to catch then half the fun would be missing, as for most anglers the pleasure comes from the unknown. Its really up to the angler to use his wits and skills here the same as they would at any other fishing venue around the world.
