BIG BARRA LAKE – PRIVATE LAKE. A beautifull 5 acre lake, not a commercial fishery and requires special permission from the owner to gain access therefore receiving very little angling pressure. This in-turn means that the barramundi are not shy of lures or flies, providing excellent fishing sessions full of aggressive hits and exhilarating rod bending action. Of the two barramundi venues – Big Barra Lake is the more picturesque and scenic, set deep in the countryside way off the beaten track. The average size barramundi at Big Barra Lake is also much larger – between 18lb – 20lb, with some growing even bigger – upto 30lb. This venue is for more experienced lure anglers as the barramundi are very big and require a skilful lure retrieve & more patience. PRIVATE POND – BOON MAR PONDS COMPLEX
Boon Mar Ponds is a more commercial fishery which receives heavy angling pressure making the barramundi very lure shy. However we have a special private pond set aside for us on this complex. We pay the owner of this pond to stop others fishing it – the barramundi only ever see our lures – therefore the action is non-stop. It is normal to catch 20-30 barramundi in a day from this pond. This venue is perfect for less experienced lure anglers, budding fly fisherman & of course the experienced angler alike wishing to ‘bag up!’

BARRAMUNDI LURE FISHING TACKLEWe supply all of the lure fishing tackle needed, amongst our armoury you will find a variety of specialist rods made by Rapala for the specific purpose of lure casting. Our Daiwa BG fixed spool reels are loaded with 50lb braid making a perfectly balanced lure fishing setup.  Fly Fishing For Barramundi in Thailand As for lure selection –there is a vast array to choose from, of which there are a few colours and patterns which have proved more successful than others. Your guidesfor the day will advise which lure to use according to conditions and time of day, surface poppers for example provide the most exciting hits when conditions allow. FLY FISHING TACKLE Unlike lure fishing tackle, which can be used effectively by any lure angler – fly fishing tackle is much more personal and individual. Therefore we do not provide fly fishing equipment; avid fly anglers should bring their own tackle. An outfit capable of casting a floating, WF 8 fly line coupled with large pike or salmon flies would be ideal.  BIG THAI BARRAMUNDI ACTION, its top notch fishing here for these native Thai Barramundi, this sport fish is world renown for its fighting characteristics and spectacular tail walking displays and jumping.
Fly fishing is a very effective technique at our venues and certainly the most fun that can be had at the end of a fishing rod!
