NOTE: If you want to get the most out of your Fishing experience in Thailand its recommended that you hire a guide , Its not expensive and the results are worth it...A Guide is the difference between a days fishing and a truly memorable experience. Guides and Tours will equip you with all the Knowledge and Tackle you need to take on the Giants that are lurking below the surface of these waters. There are all sorts of Anglers with many experiences and all will tell you that Mekong Catfish are the Hardest , strongest fighting fish around, unless you come equipped with the heaviest of line and strongest of rod you will end up with a lot of broken tackle and some bad memories of the one that got away. Bungsam lan is one of the best fishing venues in the world, and holds the top two largest freshwater fish species in the world, so be sure to make the most of your trip there by hiring a guide, by doing this you are not only helping yourself by ensuring the best possible catches but you are also supporting the local economy as the companies that do guided days at this venue employ many local anglers and they depend on this for their livelihoods.
