Here is a nice little tip for anyone who wants to get a bit more attraction and performance from a buzz bait fishing lure. By tuning up your buzz bait propeller you will be creating different amounts of vibration and disturbance on the waters surface and thus getting the attention of more fish with better strikes and top water fishing action.
The majority of buzz bait propellers or blades whatever you like to call them come with the ends bent to about 95 degrees or a little more. This means that the prop blade will be rather 'slappy' in the water with a a floppy flappy sound creating a wide wake. What we will be explaining in this article is how to create a much more fluid bubbling effect on the water which really churns around your frog lure leaving a trail of bubbles and giving out vibes that really draw the biggies up from the deep. You will need some pliers for this job, preferably the kind without teeth which have flat smooth grips which will not perforate or mark your blade.
1. The process is quite simple , we will be bending the end of each side of the prop blade around to form a tight rounded curve rather than the flat right angle which comes as standard.
2. Take the end of the blade between your pliers and gently bend it around towards its centre.
3. Adjust the bend and make sure it is a smooth curve, we do not want and angular bends, what we want are curves.
4. Repeat the same with the opposite side of the blade and you now have a sooped up buzz bait blade. This is such a simple tip but one that you really can see the difference out on the water.
You can see the tracks of bubbles a fully tuned bait leaves, it draws the fish up from the deep in instant attack mode.
