 How about a spot of Marlin Fishing then ? No not in Phuket the most famous place for Big Game Fishing in Thailand, but of the Island of Koh Tao on the Gulf of Thailand Coast. This small island is a Divers Paradise and is the smallest of the three islands ( Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Samui )off the east coast.
New Info just arrived about a place to fish on the Gulf of Thailand coast. The Island of Koh Tao is most famous for its Diving facilitys and generally accepted as the number 1 destination here. So how about this? Maybe the cheapest Marlin fishing in the World, Read on my friends.

These shots are from a day out Marlin fishing just off Maehaad town on Koh Tao. Starting in January the marlin and sailfish come in large schools into the bay, making for some very exciting fishing.
Peak season is early January,as soon as the north-east monsoon has stopped blowing, but smaller numbers of them are around all year.The most popular technique is to anchor upcurrent of the small pinnacles in the bay and drift a live sardine about 5 meters below a breakaway float.
