 A New addition to the MEGA Fishing Thailand pages, is the Kieng Doi Fishing Park in Chiang Mai. This is a Family run fishing park very near to the Chiang Rai town centre. With very good prices for fishing and rod hire its definatley worth a visit if you are up there in the North of Thailand.
Chiang Rai offers a few fishing parks , in my opinion the best of the bunch is Khieng Doi Fishing Park This is located just approx 6 kilometers from the town centre. Rates are very favourable at 60 baht per rod per day,
 The Kieng Doi Fishing Park lakes are packed with many species, Pla Sawai, Tilapia, Pla Nuanchan, and red Bellied Pacu.
If you wish you can purchase your catch at 30 Baht per kilo of fish. There's a restaurant where you can have your catch cooked up or you can take it with you and cook it yourself.
The park boasts the fishing lake and several stock lakes, a restaurant, and holiday bungalows for hire. I have caught several species in this lake, including Pla Sawai, Tilapia, Pla Nuanchan, and red Bellied Pacu all grow to decent sizes here. There are also some Giant Catfish up to 70 kilos although I haven’t been fortunate enough to land one yet.
 At Kieng Doi, the Mekong Giant Catfish are the stars of the show, as they are most other places they are stocked
