SIAMESE GIANT CARP FISHING in the Heart of Bangkok Thailand,Here is John with a lovely 73lb (33Kg) Siamese giant carp he caught on his last session, Sept. 15 2006 at Bung Sam Lan. He had another big carp hooked up an hour after...
that first catch....John gave the rod to his wife Chris to play it....sadly she lost it unhooked .... It would have been great to score a double of biggies on the same day!
John caught a juvenile 15 pounders a few days ago as well but lost the opportunity to catch another very big one -estimated over the 50 kg mark - due again to a mistake he should not have done when playing it. He felt of course sorry..... but being sorry as we all know is of no help & always too late! When a good fish is hooked up, we anglers have only one shot at it....and it is karma deciding if it has to be "landed or lost"! The Siamese Giant Carp: Catlocarpio siamensis. The Largest Carp species in the world. Native to Thailand , the True land of the Giants, where the Giant Siamese Carp, Giant Mekong Catfish and Giant Freshwater Stingray are all found
Two carp landed out of 4 runs is already nice. John & Chris had a ball with Jean Francois and his Fishing Adventures team.
The giant carp are truly biting well at the moment. Short showers followed by the sun. This kind of weather conditions is always best for Siamese carp fishing.
