This Amazing Catch happened on a trip into the Thai Jungle and the following Text has been submitted by Thailands very own Jean Francois Helias who can add this to his already uncountable great catches.
Dear Friends,
I hope you will enjoy as much as I do this exclusive lovely set of pics taken by my amigo Johnny Jensen, with whom I was sharing the boat that day in the jungle. To book amazing Jungle fishing tours or for more information please email tours@megafishingthailand.com We Spotted a big Monitor Lizard cruising through the water on the hunt for his next meal.

I cast my top water lure triggering his attention hoping he would leave the water and make for some great photos. OH NO ! That sucker strikes at it.

He Grabbed my Frog Lure!

I didnt want to set the Hook, But Somehow he got himself hooked.

OK Big Boy, Lets start to fight then!

That big monster Lizard even fights harder than a Snakehead, but when I pump him to the boat he plays dead.

He is definatley very alive, Very pissed off and ready to jump into the boat.

Nobody on board dares to get back my lure so I cut the line and release that Suker!

This is my 2nd monitor lizard catch on top water, and my personal best so far! Certainly in the 25 kilo mark...not a bad catch at all for a "novice lizard angler"!! I thought about submitting my catch with the IGFA for an All Tackle world record but I doubt it would have qualify.... Note that my record catches include a pigeon, a buffalo water, a snake, now two monitor lizards, and recently a chicken and a dog I hooked up by accident while practicing fly fishing...I would not mind adding a Thai policeman...and a agogo dancing girl..... Tight Lines!
