Fishing local waters around Prachuap Kiri Khan for Giant Snakehead. Started the day with topwater lure fishing. Was looking like a great day with 2 catches early on. Both were released safely. Weather became more unfriendly and ended in huge cloudburst. To be expected in the rainy season in Thailand. Afternoon was quiet and only a couple of strikes on frog lures, the rain storm did not trigger any feeding action as we had hoped. After a couple slow laps of the lake, Gavin our friend from LA took up with the locals who were using live bait mostly swamp eels and silver carp with real good success. All catches by the locals looked like they were going home to the pot. There were some really beautiful coloured fish too around 4kg, shame they did not get to breed another day. Our driver took one home and cooked a snakehead steak. Its kind of karma for the snakehead which is such an amazing and devastating predator that it also tastes so good to eat.
